Mr. Ruskin has acted as receiver/liquidator of failed insurance companies, marshaling millions in assets, consolidating operations across 30 different companies and their affiliates. In that capacity, he coordinated fraud and related investigations extending across the U.S., Central America and Europe.

He has turnaround and startup experience with insurance and other industries, and has represented commercial interests with operations, expansion planning, and litigation. Additionally, Mr. Ruskin has extensive criminal trial experience as a defense attorney.

Recent large losses and claims that Mr. Ruskin has been involved with have included:

• Lost income and related claims, due to the B.P. oil spill  
• Commercial economic and property claims arising from
  • a fertilizer plant fire and the evacuation of the cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas.  
  • fire and explosions at an oil facility in New Iberia, Louisiana
• NFIP Flood and other property damage following Hurricanes Ike, Irene and Lee    
• Reinsurers' subrogation interests at and litigation arising from the Kaiser Alumina Plant explosion, Gramercy, Louisiana.
• N.O.R.M. claims and litigation in Harvey, Louisiana
• Tornado, hail and other property damage in Missouri, Texas and elsewhere
• Katrina wind damage and business income losses at a 700 unit apartment complex, in Algiers, Louisiana

Following the flooding of Hurricane Katrina, in New Orleans, Mr. Ruskin left a small, niche firm of engineer lawyers.

Mr. Ruskin is a faculty member with the Trial Advocacy program at the Tulane University Law School, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
